I set saws up to cut firewood and timber. I would have to intentionally set a saw up for that purpose. Don't let anyone tell you that you can use a saw on a mill and it last without making some changes to the way it performs. I try to find every issue with my saws but without a complete teardown I can't possibly be expected find everything that is wrong and I sure cant leak test every fuel and oil tank. I have a Stihl 038 Magnum that is for sale for a friend. This saw was used as a firewood saw years ago and never as a timber saw. The saw was in here a year ago for a tuneup and it recieved a new fuel line, new fuel filter, new air filter, new carburetor kit in the Bing carburetor, and setting the carburetor.

This saw has only been ran one tank since then. I got it this week and went over the saw and find nothing wrong. I ran a tank through the saw myself with no issues.

Cranks up easily as it should. I have it set to run 12,000 rpm so it will last. The saw is making 161 psi of compression and is in very good condition. This is one of the very best models this company ever made and you will hardly ever see one.

This is the second one I have ever seen. It is not cleaned up in the pictures and it looks that sharp.

It has some tan speckles on the back right area of the saw. They are on the tank and on the orange top cover. There is an original saw shop sticker on top of the air filter cover. I did not remove it because some of you guys leave that on your collector saws.

My feedback speaks for itself. Please contact me with any problems.

I have recently had two issues where neutral feedback was left and I will make every attempt to fix the situation if you will contact me with the problem first. If you have never had a Stihl or Husqvarna saw, they do not crank on the first pull, and will flood out if they are left on choke position after the engine hits. I dont have time to try to teach someone how to crank a saw nor do I care to explain how to air out a cylinder that someone inadvertently flooded because of the choke being left on and still trying to crank after the engine hits. A dealer will be more than happy to help you crank it the first time if you are not experienced with Stihl products or watch one of the videos on Youtube. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
