I have a Stihl 045AV Super that would make a very good powerhead for milling. The super's have 88cc and alot of torque.

This saw is making 151 psi of compression and fires hot. This saw was in a little accident somewhere in its life and has some damage to the top orange cover that can be seen under the front handlebar which is also bent back. The back handgrip is damaged and wrapped in tape. The safety trigger still works. I have tried to find those parts for it but for a milling powerhead, it shouldn't matter.

It has the Tillotson HS11 carburetor and I installed a new Tillotson kit in it. I have it set for 50:1 mix and didn't realize that it should be on 40:1 mix regardless of what it is used for. I was going to go ahead and set it up 40:1 but it would also more than likely need some adjustment for altitude also depending on where it winds up. On 50:1, I have it set very rich to keep the RPM's down and if left Idling for long periods of time it will eventually die because it loads up on fuel.

Cranks right back up but will smoke till it uses up the excess fuel. I first thought the fuel line was collapsing but it doesn't quit when cutting. This saw oils like it should.

This will make a very reliable saw. I ran a tank through it with a 24 bar and a sharp chain. This thing doesn't seem to ever sound any different from leaning on it to just letting its weight carry it along.

Heavy saw and built like a tank. I would have installed a new fuel line if I had it. A little work and this saw and it will make a good unit for a mill or as a backup for a mill. My feedback speaks for itself. Please contact me with any problems.

I have had two issues in the past where neutral feedback was left and I will make every attempt to fix the situation if you will contact me with the problem first. If you have never had a Stihl saw, they do not crank on the first pull, and will flood out if they are left on choke position after the engine hits.

I dont have time to try to teach someone how to crank a saw nor do I care to explain how to air out a cylinder that someone inadvertently flooded because of the choke being left on and still trying to crank after the engine hits.
