All the rubber buffer mounts are in excellent condition. The coil and flywheel compartment were relatively clean considering how debris tends to build up significantly in that area. The chain tensioner was fantastic with a clean sharp completely unworn flathead adjustment screw.
The recoil assembly is clean, tight, and in great shape. The top handle and trigger assembely are all in perfect working order with just minor cosmetic scuffs. Once I removed the jug and scored piston I was able to inspect the crank, bearings, and seals. It all checks out as I expected it to. The ignition coil generates a very strong spark so I left it. I replaced the jug, piston, rings, and wrist pin with a genuine Stihl kit. While I was in there I replaced the impulse line with a genuine Stihl line. The original one was a bit dry and just starting to show slight cracks. The intake boot was beautiful with no signs of deterioration, I left it. I also replaced the whole carburetor assembly with a new genuine Stihl. Fuel tank is real nice showing no signs of melting or overheating.Even the foil heat shield is entirely intact showing no wear. I swapped out the fuel line, fuel filter, air filter, and tank breather with all genuine Stihl components. The oiler gear was virtually perfect so I left it. The needle bearing was fine so I just lightly greased it and put it back in along with a brand new 6 tooth Stihl sprocket. The original sprocket was only slightly worn but I had an extra new one so I tossed it on.
This saw came to me with no clutch cover or break assembly so I put one together with new and slightly used components. The tensioning spring, lever, break band, and flat spring came out of a doner saw, all genuine Stihl. The chain catch, sprocket cover, dust cover, and hand guard are brand new Stihl. The spark plug is a brand new ngk. After the saw was cleaned, parts replaced, and put back together I ran about a 1/2 tank of fuel through it just to make sure everything was cool.....
Since the saw was run for testing purposes it will have some residual grime on the power head as well as the bar and chain. It was not put into wood. This saw fires right up under normal starting procedure. So pretty much all of the expensive critical components have been replaced with genuine Stihl parts, making this saw pretty much new again. That said, it is a used saw showing bumps, scuffs, and scrapes.
Please view the pictures as they are a pretty big part of the description. Non payers will be reported and the saw relisted. I have described all the work preformed and tested the saw. I will not be responsible for misuse or abuse.
